Onyx property management has a very rude staff in particular Jason Bois he has been very unprofessional and argumentative every time I have to deal with him in regards to my property needs they also lack the urgency of maintenance issues being fixed in a timely manner

Cynthia always brings a positive attitude when she comes to inspect the properties. She has always fixed problems in our vicinity even though that's not her job. The property was well-maintained and presented in excellent condition.

Onyx has been my property mgr for YEARS. As usual, had a garbage disposal issue which needed replacing as well as a new faucet because it was so corroded that that spout couldn’t even turn. My repair man was fast and efficient and very pleasant. Thank you for your quick response to my plumbing issues!! Great job as usual!! Ann

I cannot express how livid I am. I cam home for lunch and saw my side gate opened. Which i then enter and see that Maintenance just helped themselves with out even a notice, email, call, or text!!!! I was about to hurt a man for entering my premise without authorization.

I had a plumbing problem and contacted ONYX to get someone to come out and fix it for me. After I placed the request, I got an immediate response from ONYX and set up an appointment for the next morning. The plumber arrived on time, very nice guy. I showed him the shower head that was not working in the bathroom. He knew exactly what needed to be done. I’ve lived Vista 1 year than I decide to move, they didn’t return my deposit, even I clean everything there, they charge everything to your deposit, no matter what they don’t have good management

So far so good! The application process went well. Kenya was really responsive during business hours. She was also very helpful with answering questions and pushed to help me out when I had issues with my pay verification. The unit is reasonably priced and very clean. Submitted a maintenance request for one thing and they came and fixed it within 48h. I would recommend them as of now. When I move out I will update!

We have lived at this property for some time now, and Onyx has always been very responsive and pays attention to any maintenance requests made through the phone app. We had an issue with a vendor and Vanessa was quick to call me back and dispatch a vendor to remedy our situation. Maintenance comes right after work order is placed. Both, Manuel and Fernando are very respectful when coming into the apartment and check carefully what the issue is. The only problem is whoever works at the office, whenever he calls, he sounds rude and he is supposed to be very polite.

I can say enough how appreciative I am for Onyx Property Management. The home I was approved to move into on May 15th fell through for reasons outside of my control 5 days prior to move out date. I scrambled looking for a home, found the one I am currently residing and was approved in NO TIME. I was able to move in the day I needed to be out my previous home. Since we have moved in a month ago, we have had several maintenance requests that have been completed in a timely manner. Although we had wished to move into a home that didn’t need maintenance within the 1st month; however that is the life of renting. I would like to say we have had 1 primary maintenance person from Onyx Management come and complete, that would be Fernando B, simply amazing and love the work that he completes in our home. He takes his time and is knowledgeable. I will be requesting him for all our maintenance needs while we reside with Onyx Management Group. He’s a keeper!

This is a review of maintenance: The maintenance request system in the tenant portal makes it very easy to submit work requests. You can even attach photos. And the maintenance workers respond very quickly! They are usually able to come same or next day and work with my schedule. Special shoutout to Fernando and Eddie, who have solved so many issues very well, quickly, and with professionalism.

If you have any questions/issues with a property and have to deal with the manager, Jason Bois, at all, good luck. I have had to really fight to have any issues alleviated (replacing an unusable faucet, covering open hole above stove, fixing crack in laundry ceiling, fixing leaky washer, etc). My shower wasn't draining, and Onyx charged me for the maintenance/plumber. Additionally, Onyx didn't take care of the trash system, despite my neighbor calling multiple times, and our building has now been without trash cans for 3 weeks. As a tenant, I have only good things to say about Onyx Property Management. From moving in to maintenance requests, they were always professional, friendly, and responsive. We had a leak from some massive rain storms on a Sunday, and they had a contractor out to fix it asap. Paying rent via the mobile app tenant portal is easy. They seem to care about tenants.

It has an excellent location near Balboa Park; it's a small complex, with only about 35 apartments; it's across the street from a supermarket, so groceries are easy to get anytime; and the residents are nice.
