I’m a homeowner, landlord, property manager, and investor. I’ve been in the business 15 years. I had Alex manage one of my units in Santee, California, for a couple years. Things were ok while he had Tyson Boyer there. Tyson was on top of everything and very respectful. After he left, according to my tenants, the communication slowed way down and my tenant stopped getting help that she needed from Alex’s company. Since Comana took over 10+ years ago every maintenance issue is quickly addressed and resolved, usually within a day or two. I appreciate the 24/7 online rent payment and maintenance request system. My experience with Comana was extremely disappointing due to their lack of honesty and accountability. I tried to handle every issue respectfully and in good faith, but several members of their staff provided false information and later denied prior conversations that clearly took place. Their staff made statements that they later denied, and rather than resolving matters honestly, they chose to deflect and distort the facts. We declined to pay the charges they attempted to impose because they were unjustified and rooted in misinformation. The entire experience reflected poor ethics and unprofessional conduct. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking fair or honest management. Always protect yourself by documenting every communication in writing.

Our lease was ending, and we never received any communication from them about renewal—no letter, no email, not even a courtesy call. I had some plumbing issues; I contacted the company over the weekend when they were closed. I got a call and am email on Monday. Plumbers weren't available until Tuesday. They arrived and fixed the issue. It was recommended that a replacement part may be needed. I was called and scheduled for the plumbers to come out on Thursday to replace the part. I had a last minute issue with my oven that caused some major anxiety. There was smoke and I’m up on the second floor- it was a mess. Everyone at Comana was really patient and helpful. My issue occurred Sunday night - I reported Monday and it was fixed by first thing on Tuesday. Everyone we spoke with was eager to keep us in the loop we were never wondering if they got our request or when they would respond. After experiencing stress due to issues with this company, I have sought stress management therapy. My family has been affected by a 7-month rodent problem, selective communication, difficult landlords, and a sudden legal rent increase. I have prepared my 30-day notice and am eager to move out soon. This property was a blessing while it lasted and we are grateful for our previous landlord. Our only hope is no one ever experiences anything like we did. To be gaslit like we were. But more importantly, every party involved, learns a valuable lesson in all this.

Horrible representation. They didn’t communicate my move out to the owner. I had to break the lease because I bought a house. I gave them 2 months notice, and continued to pay for a month after I moved out while they searched for a tenant.
