They don't even deserve 1 star...my mother at 65 on fixed income with medical problems had to spend last Christmas moving her stuff out with only 10 days to move, ONLY on certain days and times they would unlock the door for her to get her belongings. She exaughsted herself getting her stuff and cleaning it to get back deposit to then get charged over $6,000!!! Almost a year later, my dad 70 on fixed income, also health problems kicked out so they could renovate and raise rent, he left that place better than he moved in but yet charged $1,000 for "damages" They aren't the only ones either! I have been working with Open Door for about 9 months. I contracted them to oversee a rehab of the house and then as property manager once that was completed. Brian managed all of the work done to the house. He is a great communicator and worked with me on flooring, paint and cabinetry choices. The house looks great and is now rented! I feel that the house is in good hands.

The team at Open Door have been great to work with. They manage several of my properties, and as an out-of-town investor, having a team I can trust since I am so far away is obviously super important. I really like the regular updates I get through their Tenant Turner software. It keeps me in the loop on showings when we have a vacant unit. I like that they offer renters insurance for all tenants that not only helps the tenant but protects me as a landlord as well. The only reqson you guys are getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because I dont hold you guys fully responsible. I just think you need to do a better job at screening for your homes. The summer isn't even over and I am already fed up with my new neighbors. I have put in multiple noise complaints to the city. They are loud, obnoxious, have people coming in and out at all times of the day. I own my home and refuse to deal with renters not respecting the neighborhood. (Spatz)

Took over for a previous property manager for my rental was sold 2 years into me being there, immediately raised rent. Minimal maintenance repairs, terrible communication, unmotivated assistance. Moved out a little over a month ago, after close to 4 full years (2 managed by them) at the address. Within 30 days, repairs and improvements on the house are made and it's listed. Got my deposition letter for move out today. Took my entire security deposit with Trumped up charges. Very dissatisfied.

House was good, but as with every rental company, they kept as much of the deposit as possible by adding vague charges.

Liberty was my property manager. She was very patient. She was very kind and she was very informative during the whole application and approval process. She has a beautiful personality that is very welcoming and calming. We enjoyed her!

Please PLEASE dont go through this place!!!!! During covid I need assistance with rent and they wouldn't take my rent because it wasn't on one check and they evicted me and are now garnishing my wages for triple the amount I tried giving them. Hate this company!!!!

My wife rented from them for a year. Her last month of rent she was struggling so got some help from common Grace. She tried to give 2 checks to pay rent and they said they wouldn’t accept 2 different checks. They evicted her and 4 years later are garnishing her wages for $5,200. Her rent was only $750 a month. All because they would accept 2 checks. Worst place ever to rent from.

They sent us a letter in mail in 2nd week of December stating they are our new landlords and they only wanted to do month to month. We'll January roles by oh you have till end of February to move out then got another letter oh now you have till February 10th. Within 6 months they showed my apartment to realtors/investors almost 30x. Twice without notice. Never shoveled or removed ice a single time altho it’s in my lease for them to do so. Today they informed me that they are no longer the management company with no notice and didn’t provide the new managements name or contact info. Avoid Open Doors like the plague. They only care about $, never the residents.

My furnace stopped working on a Saturday night. I called the after hours emergency number and the Open Door Maintenance technician quickly brought out some space heaters to help get us through the night. The HVAC contractors were on site the next morning and were able to fix the issue with the furnace.

I can’t say anything other than great things about Open Door Rentals Especially Jessica Balyeat she helped me get through the whole process flawlessly any questions I had she was right there to answer them and explain them perfectly for a first time renter like myself. I love my open door rentals They all have been so helpful my landlord gets things done if something goes wrong they come and fix it. Open door rentals is a good place to rent from long as a person follows the lease you shouldn't have any problems I haven't had any at all I have great neighbors and I try to be a good neighbor as well I just feel if people had a problem with open door it was something the tenant done or didn't do cause open door has been GREAT to us

I wouldn’t recommend renting through them they refuse to give you most of your deposit back they make up their own crazy charges . It doesn’t matter if you clean the house and send pictures they’re still going to charge you a “ light cleaning “ fee I was charged 110 dollars for that . Then make sure there’s not a tiny spot of paint missing on the walls they’ll charge you close to 150 dollars for “ touching it up “ doesn’t matter how long you were living there . Open door rental has been very open and helpful. Such kind ladies in the auburn Indiana. My leasing agent was awesome and even though I am unsure of the young lady who helped me sign my papers she was awesome and very informative.

You are guaranteed to not get your security deposit back and you will have to pay to get the carpets cleaned on top of that. Bed bugs and roaches. Left the place much cleaner and got charged for all sorts of cleaning done before move out. Will never rent from them again.

Jessica has been amazing to work with. For the first time in 26 years I was looking for a home of my own. A year ago she was able to help me through the rental application process and touring homes. When I chose one she was quick to get the ball rolling. She answered all of my questions in a great timeframe. The last year she has also been attentive to the needs or questions I have had. Just recently I worked with her to have my room mate added to my agreement. The process was swift and somewhat fast. She has been an amazing person to work with!

I have had nothing but positive experiences with this management company. The apartment is beautiful, rent is reasonable, and they are exceptionally pet friendly. Maintenance is wonderful and does a great job. Overall a great company to work with.

The hassles were non stop, but we had three big issues with this company during our time renting from them. 1. Maintenence came into our place WHEN I WAS IN THE SHOWER when I had marked on the request call before coming. 2. Our connected neighbors smoked pot all day which smelled our place up. Mngment ignored my emails requesting help with the issue. 3. Expect to get screwed on your deposit return. We left it looking way better than it did moving in, but they still charged a bogus $300 cleaning fee. Steer clear renting from this place.

After I replaced the fuse inside over the stove microwave twice within approx. a month I thought there was something more wrong. I contacted maintenance through The MELD, my microwave was replaced with a new one in a short period of time. The new one is working fine.

DO NOT USE THEM!@!! Move in was good with paperwork...move in inspection was noted, place dirty and dusty. Leased a year from them and cleaned home myself 150%. They charged me 654 for cleaning..so over half my deposit. Home was like 1100 sq ft. No carpet. They said don't matter how it was when u moved in lease says cleaned with guidelines...I did..I have pictures b4 and after. There response is going ahead and sue. Company is not renter friendly. They love to rip you off and make the problems that occur with their rental properties your problem. They charge you to fix THEIR PROPERTY regardless if you caused the issue or not. The office staff are rude and condescending when asking questions as well. They come to take pictures of the property every three months and give very short notices of about a week notice before showing up whether you are there or not. An ok place to live, if you don’t mind that nothing gets fixed accept whatever constitutes as a “health hazard” as the lady in the office told me when turning in our papers. We have to prop the downstairs windows with a wooden stick which they “generously” provided us with, rather than replace the windows. The bathrooms were never cleaned upon move in and were grimy. I showed the lady at the desk and she showed no interest. They do not care about their property or tenants, just making money off of them. Highly recommend going with any other rental company.

Rental experience with subpar. Issues failed to be repaired quickly. Refused to give 75% of my deposit back due to minor cleaning issues. NO damage to the apartment at all. Very petty and uncommunicative. They said the only way I can get money from them is if I sue. Wanted to buy a home through them as well and they said they didn’t think it was a good idea. The realtor I ended up finding thought that was shady of them. My mom also tried to buy home from them, and it fell through due to false promises. Very glad to be out of there and now own my own home.

This was my first time ever living on my own and in all honesty it has been an experience I'll never forget with how good they've been to me in the past 5 moths. My outlets blew around midnight one day and barely even 30 minutes later they were on my doorstep helping me out, and by the next day it was completely fixed. If I could leave zero stars, I would at first on move-in. They were very very sweet and seemed very accommodating. I let them know when I moved in that the unit smelled like smoke and they offered to do the ozone machine little did. I know that it smelled like smoke because my neighbor was an avid marijuana smoker and multiple complaints. Open door rentals sent a maintenance guy over to fix a leak in our sink. His name was Mike and he was very friendly. Not only did he fix our sink but he also changed the batteries in our carbon monoxide detector that was high up and could not be reached easily. AND he fixed our screen door that had been broken for quite some time. Very thankful to Mike and his consideration to fix our sink and other issues that he didn’t have too! Thanks Mike!!

I'm having a great experience renting through Open Door. Not only did the leasing process go smoothly but they have met all of their commitments in regards to our tight schedule and time frame. We had a few minor maintenance issues and they got fixed quickly. Update: We moved out and got the majority of our deposit back. We left the place clean but did cause some minor damages after living there for 2 years. The charges were fair and justified. Still give 5 stars. They remained fair and thorough throughout our lease.

My sink faucet was leaking and I put a meld in, they were there in no more than 3 days after I put the request in!! Not only that but they ended up just putting in a brand new faucet and it was nicer than the one before!!

Katelyn was great from the first time she greeted me at the window. I was stressed out having wasted my time with another rental agency. The other company had me do lots of things beforehand to only tell me the units I was looking to VIEW were gone. So when I was able to view lots of properties easily and Katelyn streamlined and communicated perfectly I was able to get everything taken care of in a very short time. Meld and the other app/ company contact methods are great.

Not the best at communicating, asked us if pest control came rather than making sure of it themselves. They also have charged us for simply texting them because our stove wasn’t turning on when we moved in, and we were then charged for going into the basement and flipping the breaker switch ourselves. Some of the things these people do is downright sketchy.
