Easy 5-star here, I've had 2 previous managers who lacked quality service, including months without collecting and notifying me the tenant was not paying rent! I’ve worked with Step Ahead Management for over a decade. Never thought about switching to someone else. They were always responsive and easy to work with. Monthly statements are accurate and easy to read. Prompt notifications of lay payments and plans for tenant to get current. When it finally came time for me to sell the property they helped facilitate transfer to the new owner quickly and easily.

If you see a home for rent on Wade St in Indianapolis, please do not move there. Prior to signing the lease, a neighbor warned us to not bring our children into this home. We didn’t listen, we should’ve. The home is on well water, half of the time it isn’t working at all, meaning no water to the house. The other half of the time, it’s brown or dark yellow. In the 2.5 years we lived there (we broke our lease early) we had well vendors there more times than I could even fathom. Whom also stole from us. If I could give it less stars I would. Put in a maintenance request for a broken AC, took two days to get somebody out to even look at it. They looked for 5 minutes, said it's out of Freon, could be a leak or it just needs replaced.. its been 3 days since that visit and still no answer on a solution. Pretty simple to add freon and find a leak and/or contact the owner to get an answer/solution for a new unit. No communication or answer is not the service anybody wants or desires. We had the pleasure of renting a home through Step Ahead for a year. I can confidently say I have never had such an amazing rental company. The service was spectacular, if there was a maintenance issue they would frequently have someone out the same day. The repair man was kind, courteous, and a joy to work with. I lived here for over three years and when I first moved in, I had some maintenance issues which is perfectly normal. Because my last experience with PMI Midwest was so terrible (I recommend NEVER using that company, they are TERRIBLE!), I carried that trauma over and was blowing up A Step Ahead’s phone to get the issues fixed. This is the best rental company that I’ve ever dealt with. I rented with them for 3 years, and they never once increased my rent. All my maintenance inquiries were handled in a timely manner, and all of the staff were a pleasure to deal with. They also weren’t greedy with my security deposit upon moving out which was a pleasant surprise. I’ve recently moved and have been dealing with a well-known rental company and they’ve been a nightmare. It’s made me realize how awesome Step Ahead was/is. I would absolutely rent again from them in the future.

I would 100% recommend this realtor company to rent from. Lisa was continuously prompt and respectful in all interactions. House was always maintained well. A Step Ahead Management does not operate like most rental management companies. I've lived in the same house for over 4 years and I've only had good experiences. While most rental companies scam people, knowing they can just find another renter, A Step Ahead takes care of their renters so that they keep renting. Here are the positives: 1. They keep rent affordable. In the first two years I lived here, they did not raise rent. 2. I have many amenities that would cause other companies to raise rent several hundred dollars. The renting process was super easy! We found this home online on Saturday night and got to do a tour the very next day on Sunday. We put in our application on Monday and knew we got it by Wednesday of that same week! The place we rent is absolutely beautiful and very clean. The neighborhood feels very safe and my husband and I are so happy to be here.

A Steph Ahead Management made the search for a rental property a breeze. They were also very helpful with the move in process and made sure I had everything I needed. When finding a rental property it seems that you always have to give up something to find a house. With Step Ahead I was able to find a house in the area I wanted and a house that had everything I needed. I would recommend this rental company to anyone.

Quick and easy application process. Was able to move in two days after getting approved. Absolutely love the house! It has a few dings and paint chipped on the windowsills and doors and dog hair from the previous renter, but all that is easy to fix. Would like to continue renting with this company for the years to come.
