My son had an apartment through CHS in North Carolina and all in all it was a good experience. We met with Jennifer and Wendy prior to him moving in when we stopped by to see the school. There was also a move in meeting going over what to expect, what to bring and what to leave at home. Jordan handled his move out inspection and followed up with a call when we had a question. My son and his lacrosse team mate used CHS for housing. Things were good the 1st semester, but then CHS brought another kid into the apartment that trashed the place, smoked week, broke furniture and had 5 of his friends staying in the apartment. We contacted CHS and they were supposed to take care of the situation (we live 5 hours from were my son was going to college) we trusted they had our son's best interest. This was such a great opportunity for my son Archie. He had such a great time and a fantastic experience. They took a lot of worries off my shoulders and were always there to help with any thing my son needed or any questions I had. The housing is a good program to go through if you don’t have an apartment. There are pros and cons to Chs but if you have a problem they are willing to help you out with payment plans or anything problem you have in your apartment. Kaitlyn helped me out a lot

Things are looking good with CHS! Started rocky for me, but that’s because timing and funds were an issue, the CHS team done what they could to accommodate me (it is what it is) The apartment I have is perfect in my opinion I’m easy to please. And on campus they are extremely friendly, with answering your questions keeping you up to date on your account and providing snacks!

I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for student housing. I specifically requested a private room, only to later find out private rooms were never available. The contract referenced a roommate, not multiple roommates. When I complained and requested a transfer, nothing was done. Then, only two months before graduation CHS forced me to move to a different apartment complex. You will not be safe. You will not be put with roommates that have the same schedule as you. You will be open to any persecution by roommates and their families if they dont like you. Everyone gets charged if one guy doesnt clean. Everyone gets kicked out when one roommate leaves his pot laying around. The company will tell you that you are an adult and to deal with it. They do not enforce rules just fine you. Wish I could give zero stars. If you are going to a non conventional school and they work with CHS find your own place to live. CHS is essentially a middleman to wherever you are staying. If you have a problem you contact CHS and they contact the apartment complex. They also charge per student not apartment. I would like to say that my experience with collegiate housing services (CHS) was amazing. However that would be extremely far from the truth and misleading. My experience started off with paying the application fee of 200$; an extremely easy thing to do. Whenever speaking to CHS they informed the incorrect due date for this money. Dont have much to say I feel that the other one star reviews are pretty much covering how it feels to live in as CHS apartment. I will say that specifically me I live in Cleveland going to Ohio Technical college. They are ripping me off for 710 dollars a month to live in horrible section 8 apartments. The shower wall fell apart and wasn't fixed for 2 weeks the water pressure is pretty trash, they are constantly shutting off the water to do maintenance at one point we didn't even have hot water for 2 weeks then it came back for a couple days and shut off again for a few more days. Don’t use them, if you can try to rent with the complexes on your own with a buddy or something. They will screw you over and try to charge you for anything they can. 900 dollars to share a small room and half a small closet. I broke my lease a month ago and they’re trying to charge me for damages caused by other people and for replacing an already old mattress. I hardly stayed there to begin with. They also kept my deposit, so why are you still charging me even more ?

My problems have less to do with the apartments and more to do with their web portal. It has been a struggle to log in because my account has "expired" or something. However, since I can't log in, I can't make a payment on my outstanding balance. I got a call from them saying that I needed to make a payment by Monday or they'll hand it over to collections. However, when I tried calling to explain the web portal issue, no one picked up. Now I have to wait till Monday to call. The same day, they're gonna let collections handle it. Apartment in Huffines, Near Irving Texas was disgusting. From the first day, the apt was dirty, holes in the walls, roommates up all night partying. Had to sleep in the car at night to get any rest. My fiance is currently using this service while he is school in Austin. His A/C has not been working correctly for MONTHS. We have put in MULTIPLE service requests to fix it but no one is doing a thing to fix it. His apartment is sitting at 82° at 7pm. He has contacted his housing director in person, through text, and over the phone but the housing director does not seem to care. Service was great upon information leading to setting up and moving into an 3 bedroom apartment with 5 roommates. They were very straight forward with instructions upon the moving in process and were very helpful at the front desk when asked for information or questions. The furniture for the apartment was decent but in my opinion 1200 a month is too much for a 3 bedroom 2 bath for 5 people. Not a bad place for resident living by themselves.

Absolutely ZERO stars they are nothing but a headache. While you’re trying to worry about school, work and whatever else they will just add to the issue. Very unprofessional employees and not willing to listen to your side of the conversation. Whatever they say goes even if they are breaking one of their many outrageous rules they make up. Collegiate housing is sticking me with charges from one of my other roommates because that other person shot a whole in the upstairs bathroom and refused to pay for the damage

I loved the help and support I get from CHS, they always know how to help me with any financial issues I may face and questions I have. Working with everyone here has made me feel so welcomed and part of the team, and a big part of this school. Even making friends and helping others with any issues they may have.

Waited 4 years to send me to collections and tell me I owe them $4000 even though I didn't get to finish my lease because the apartment complex no longer desired to work with universal technical institute or collegiate housong services. I was kicked out of my apartment and homeless in mid summer in Phoenix while still having 2 months of school left, as it turns out they want me to pay them for these months still. Don't trust this company with your livelihood unless you are a fan of being taken advantage of. 4 people paying $700 a month for a $1200 apartment make it make sense.

Roach infested apartments, horrible management, apartment was so dirty when I moved in for school, cleaned best I could when I was moving out and yet they wanna try to charge me $184 for cleaning. Dont fall for the pictures of nice apartments they charged all 4 of us staying in a 2 bedroom apartment 1200$ a month to stay in section 8 the place was not clean on move in there were cockroaches and fruit flies all over the place and on top of it they tried to charge 70$ for cleaning fees on move out when we left the place cleaner then move in. The microwave quit working week 2 the oven took over an hour to preheat there was a water leak in the floor and there was two instances where neighbors were shooting. Way to much money for so little. Denise Robinson from headquarters in Indianapolis also always had an attitude when contacting me and when I lost my cool I was in the wrong. Luke Epps from Exton, PA also never did anything about concerns brought up. Just a young kid trying to make a life for Hime and got charged $981/MO plus a $300 cleaning fee even tho I cleaned. Got kicked out same day for something that wasn't in their policies any way shape or form, will do anything they can to keep you renting from them, without actually fixing any problems. They put you in a good place and if the place gets too bad they will move you which was nice. Only a few issues, my current appt didn't include a washer and dryer, and if you have issues with roommates taking food the only real option you have is to be moved away from them unless you have video evidence of food being taken, even a photo of sandwichs made with my bread wasn't good enough for them to do anything.

Absolutely terrible business, I paid 1350 a month for an apartment with 3 other guys, which would be fine if the apartment was worth that. Countertops looked like they were from the 80’s, the microwave was a countertop microwave that was rigged up to sit under a cabinet. The couches were fake leather that was already torn up, over half of our outlets did not work and the lady Michelle told us there was a work order put in but no one ever came. CHS has made the whole process of moving to Indy and attending the LIFT Academy easier for me. They have always been easy to contact and communicate with. They take their time to understand what you need not just in a place to live, but to have the lifestyle you want. They are very friendly and treat you as if you are family not just a tenant. I can tell that quality, comfort, and safety are high on their priorities. I would recommend them to anyone who is making the leap to start the LIFT program.

If you end up with Eric in SoCal good luck. The place I was housed for school was disgusting and infested with cockroaches. The apartment itself was falling apart. Eric’s really no help between hanging up on you mid conversation and refusing to communicate through email or just the pure lack of communication with the conditions of where you stay. i would recommend housing with CHS if you are looking for an affordable housing situation for school and can handle occasional inconveniences with roommates and management, which are few and far between. We do appreciate the discounts on housing and stuff but we have put in multiple work order request. As us tents we don't feel like our request matter and me and my roommates are debating on leaving because nothing is getting done to help us. So I hope this feedback is read and something is done about it because we feel like everything we do is not being done. 1/2 a Start Review will stay like that until we feel like us the students and tenets are treated like people and our request are being done.

Do not do bussiness with these cheats. It may appear that you are gonna save money over renting outright but they will nickle and dime you and try to overcharge you. They refused to return my security deposit and even gave me a paper stating that it was being used to settle my account which was fine, however I then got a letter from a debt collection agency saying they were still charging me for the account balance that was supposed to be settled with my security deposit, essentially charging me twice. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AT ALL COSTS!!!

We cleaned our son’s apartment top to bottom and these scam artists fined us $100 per student ( 4 of them) when we contacted them they said they would drop it in half. Shame on NLC for doing business with this company. The reviews speak for themselves.

Then come at you stating that you are the responsible party for the damages, which were recorded when the previous tenant left, however, low and behold happen to lose the papers for that inspection! On day of move in they switched our apartment to a smaller one and didn't lower the rent, it had busted cabinets and was given a once over by cleaning crew while we were in the process of moving in. Had a ticket for the garbage disposal put in and it took months for them to get to it, as well as them forgetting to pay our rent which we all did.
