Penrose on Mass Ave Apartments Reviews

Our daughter recently accepted a new position in Indianapolis and needed to secure an apartment on short notice. We went with Penrose after meeting with Madalyn. As others note- rent is very reasonable, maintenance and property management staff are personable and responsive. And, the location is outstanding. Great restaurants, grocer, hardware and more within 7-10 walking distance. Very well equipped fitness center, great community amenities and excellent parking. Highly recommend JC Hart and Penrose on Mass Ave.

Edward was quick and efficient and very professional fixing my drawer

Charles was great. My dryer controls stopped working, and he was able to diagnose the issue and replace the control board. The repair was completed quickly and everything is working again. Thanks, Charles.

Picked this apartment because it has EV charging. When I first moved in 9 months ago, only 2 out of the 4 chargers were working. I informed management, but they never fixed them. Now only 1 out of the 4 EV chargers works… and the rate is almost as high as a supercharger.

Excellent apartment complex building! I have been living here for 9 months and just love it. The offices and maintenance team have exceeded my expectations. Maintenance workorders are resolved between 24 to 48 hrs of opening the request!

Great apartment complex. Amazing office staff!!! Lived here for 3 years and wish I was staying longer. A shoutout to the Maintenence team at Penrose, specifically Charles. He is fast, thoughtful, respectful, and goes above and beyond when your place needs any maintenance work done.

Lance was awesome! Replaced all blind batteries at a timely manner and was very polite while doing it!

Do NOT stay here. My husband and I booked an Airbnb at this property and were absolutely shocked by what we encountered. For the price we paid, we expected at least a clean and safe environment. Instead, we were greeted by a man who appeared to be homeless and was smoking right inside the building. The stairwell reeked of urine, and the hallways smelled strongly of body odor and garbage. Lived here for over 2 years. Perfect location, 4 blocks from either end of Mass Ave, and loved my apartment. If anything was ever wrong (maybe called maintence 3x in 2+ years) they were on it and amazing (Shout out to Robert for being the best and most kind maintenance person I’ve ever met, however, they are all wonderful and friendly.) Okay so I NEVER leave reviews but I believe when something is great it deserves to be recognized!! I lived at Penrose for 2 years and could not have enjoyed my time more at this complex! - First of all I'm from out of town and was nervous about the move. I would absolutely recommend renting at Penrose on Mass! The price point is perfectly aligned with for the area and the amenities just add to the value! The location is perfect! Right in the heart of Mass ave! I love that the office is on the 2nd floor right next to the mail boxes, gym, pool and resident lounge where I can grab a cup of coffee. I would absolutely recommend finding somewhere else to rent. Penrose on Mass is completely overpriced for the quality / experience that you will receive. For a one bedroom apartment with a single parking spot, you will be shoveling out ~$2,200 a month even before utilities like electricity and wifi - Building quality is obviously poor - When the resident in the unit above mine would walk around, it actually sounded like they were going to crash through my ceiling. Lived here for two years and, after seeing other complexes in other states, I can confidently say that my experience was ideal. The hallways and common areas are always clean. The staff is super nice, communicative and very informed of what’s going on locally. The garage is clutch — no better feeling than being in the heart of downtown and being able to get in and out quickly. I lived here while in my 20s but I’d say the community was happily mixed. I've always dreamed of living downtown no matter what city I was in however the timing was never right. Recently i became an empty nester and work in the heart of downtown so the timing was perfect.
