Brighton Management reviews
Brighton Management took over my building in Brooklyn Heights and the change was immediate. The staff responds fast to any issues, repairs are done properly the first time, and the property is kept in pristine condition. I’m so glad Brighton is managing the building now!
I rarely leave negative reviews, but after this experience, I feel other tenants should know what to expect. Our building has been without hot water for nearly two weeks, and the communication from management has been extremely disappointing. We’ve received repeated promises that the issue would be fixed, only for the problem to continue with little transparency or urgency. Hot water is not a luxury, it’s a basic service that tenants pay for every month. Going this long without it has made daily life unnecessarily difficult, especially while continuing to pay full rent. What has been most f…
Disgusting, The most arrogant, unethical, disrespectful, and deceitful property management/Landlord I’ve encountered in my 28 years of living in New York City. The owners, management, and staff have zero integrity. The super was sent unlawfully to enter my apartment in secret without permission and used a master key to unlock MY apartment. They Never mentioned a word of it to my wife and I, until we reviewed our pet camera. Blarina and her criminal staff need to answer for their crimes!
Serina should be fired shes the most miserable woman I’ve interacted with in my life. You could say Good Morning with a smile and she would respond with attitude. The most unprofessional horrible woman don’t know how she’s still employed.
Current tenant under Brighton Management and honestly I’m really glad to be living with their management. I can’t comment for the other reviews here as I’m sure everyone has their own valid experiences. But as a born bred New Yorker I have to say this has been one of my most positive experiences in my life as a renter. Living in UWS with them has been a big improvement — coming from Bx and now being closer to work but not too far from home. Positives: 1) they respond timely in 1-2 business days 2) managerial communication with building 3) not invasive/overstepping in boundaries Improvements…
Was very helpful in move out , deposit returned quickly and even helped with with referencing for next apartments. Thanks Blerina!
The team at Brighton is so helpful. They answer all emails promptly and resolve issues quickly. Additionally, they have been so accommodating as we've navigated changing move out dates. Great company to rent with!
This company is full of crooks. I am SO grateful to be out of the building. Do not believe the 5 star reviews. I wish I had looked up this management team before moving into the apartment. 1.5 years of anxiety living in the building owned by Brighton. This company never responded to maintenance requests unless I reported them to the city, they got a violation, or unless they could no longer legally get away. I reported them at least 10 times. I dealt with a terrible ceiling leak that consumed about 4-5 months of my stay. It wasn’t until the super found me crying that he decided to take it into…
They're mis-categorized as a property management company. They don't manage the property I have lived at for years; they do the bare minimum in the cheapest way possible. They're a landlord profit management company.
Aside from illegally ending our rent stabilized price citing a “typo” in our lease with the previous landlord (which many online accounts have confirmed they do at every building they buy with rent-stabilized units—they just lie and say your old lease had a typo in it to jack up your rent), this company is terrible to work with in the day to day as well. Communication across the board is a nightmare, from package delivery to building-wide maintenance days to repairs in individual units. As an example, we had to an appliance replaced in my unit, and this resulted in about five different people…
The are very reluctant to resolve issues concerning property damage and repairs!
AVOID THIS LEASING COMPANY. Their employee "Celeste Odel" stole $1500 deposit for an apt I pulled out of. They have refused to respond for over 9 months. Taking them to court, wish me luck!
Management was consistently unresponsive to both minor and major complaints. They raise rent each year but never do basic maintenance. Our building was without gas / hot water for a month and they blamed / threatened tenants instead of fixing the issue quickly. Classic horrible cheap NYC landlord who couldn’t give less of a shit about the tenants. Good luck if you live in one of their buildings. I would avoid at all costs ..
For 5 months I been begging the managment to bring exterminator or the super for Cockroaches! No one is even willing to answer my calls. Never ever dealt with managment company so unprofessional.
I had a very easy experience with Brighton. The signing process was very smooth. The apartment was fantastic and renewal process was very easy. Management was responsive to maintenance requests and always professional and courteous
As a small women owned business, I have spent time and money making my hair salon as beautiful and clean as I can in this building. The management is non existent. They do not respond to repairs. In the 4.5 years I have been here, I have dealt with no heat, no water (imagine at a hair salon when I’ve had to cancel dozens of appointments losing thousands of dollars), a mice and roach infestation, a bathroom that doesn’t work, and nasty attitudes when I call. People move into the building not knowing what they are about to experience. The positive reviews are false, please beware!!! I would neve…
The nicest management team I have ever rented with! Very responsive and helpful. Went above and beyond and were very thoughtful. My security deposit was processed quickly and they were very accommodating to my move out.
Renting with Brighton Management was really easy. Everything went smoothly, and they were helpful and clear. I’d definitely recommend them. 10/10 🫶🏻
Wrongful activity in the building, again, recorded on multiple cameras and the management refuses after multiple requests from tenants to review their very own footage or take any measures to report or protect tenants from repeated wrongful activity. This is not the first occurrence. This time it occurred right in front of the lobby cameras they own inside the building and have access to easily review themselves, and one tenant even filed it to the city officials as management requested on us tenants behalf. I read management's response in the tenants group chat and was shocked by the tone, …
Living in a Brighton Management building has been a great experience. The property managers are incredibly responsive, repairs are handled quickly, and the building is always spotless. Compared to the previous management, Brighton is a huge improvement!
I’ve been renting in Kips Bay under Brighton Management and couldn’t be happier. Any maintenance requests are taken care of right away, and the common areas are always clean. It’s such a difference from the old management—Brighton truly cares about their tenants.
We had a great lease signing experience with Brighton Management- the team was friendly, knowledgeable, and really took the time to answer our questions and make sure we felt supported. We are so looking forward to move in!
Very kind and easy going property management that promptly responds to questions/fixes. Was a great experience living in my apartment.
I’m a tenant at one of Brighton Properties, and I have nothing but great things to say about the management. The renting process was smooth, and both the management and the superintendent are always quick to address even the smallest issues. Their prompt responses and excellent service make renting with them a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!
Living in a Brighton Management building has been a fantastic experience from start to finish. They have been incredibly responsive to my emails and requests, always addressing concerns quickly and professionally. They honored the month and a half of free rent without any issues, making the leasing process completely seamless. What truly sets Brighton apart is their willingness to go above and beyond for their tenants. As I transitioned out of my apartment, they were extremely accommodating, making the move-out process smooth and stress-free. Their kindness, flexibility, and professionalism m…
Since Brighton Management took over our building, the difference has been clear. The building is much cleaner, and any maintenance requests are handled promptly. Very happy with my stay here!
I’ve been a tenant in one of Brighton Management's buildings for over a year, and I can honestly say it’s been a great experience. The property managers are responsive and always on top of things, making sure repairs are done quickly.
Please do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT STAY AT THEIR PROPERTIES. During my 1-year lease at one of their buildings, I’ve seen massive infestations of flies, cockroaches and mice. Non-compliance letter from health department piled up and no one bothered to check. Also, the basic infrastructure (elevator, washer/dryer) stopped working all the time and their building super quit all the time. They also attempted to delay issuing my rent deposit despite clear state guidance. My one year at their building was a hellish experience and I do not wish it upon my worst enemy.
Terrible management. Read somewhere all the positive reviews are bots or friends of the company because truly Brighton is so bad. We went without electricity for four days. They refused to reimburse us and told us it was ConEd’s fault. We called management over sixteen times to try and get it resolved. ConEd had to put it in writing that it was an issue on their end. They finally got an electrician to the building after four days but refused to reimburse us for the days without electricity (which included having no AC in August). Blerina specifically had zero empathy for the situation and gas…
My experience with Brighton Management has been pleasant. I would rent with them in the future! Kind staff and typically quick to handle maintenance requests
Have had nothing but a good experience with Brighton Management. They have been incredibly responsive and accommodating and my building/unit is always clean and well-maintained.
I have lived all over NYC under many different property management companies. I have never worked with a group of professional, hardworking people like the people here. Day or Night, Holiday, Weekend, they are always responsive. Things do not always go right, just like anywhere else in NYC, but they fix it promptly and are great communicators. Highly recommended. Kris in the office, Property manager Serina, and the building super are great!
Absolute worst management company I’ve dealt with in my 10 years living in New York in over eight apartments . Did not have smoke detectors in my apartment. Appliance didn’t work. Supers entered without announcing themselves. No response to multiple calls, emails, messages.
I am living almost 2 years in this building 206w 21st c9 under Brighton Management however everything is going great so far , management team always is attentive in anything you need like maintenance, payments, etc. they are working so hard to provide the better service for us every time. I am thankful with this great service.
This is the worst and most disgusting place I have ever lived at. DO NOT MOVE HERE!! They take months to fix anything, everything is always breaking and good luck getting anyone to reply to you wether its a maintenance request or texting the super directly. Our AC has been broken all summer and they refuse to come fix it, the outside electric panal has broken twice and they didn't fix it both times for DAYS, our dishwasher leaked dirty water all day everyday for months and despite contacting them multiple times, it took 2 months for them to finally come fix it. Only 1 dryer works for laundry a…
I would avoid this management company at all costs. 1) The previous reviews stating that they will try to scam your security deposit from you is TRUE. I received a call that was rude and accusatory that I had left garbage in the sink and refrigerator and that I left a giant couch in the living room. They also claimed I took two AC units from the building, when there was only one that **I purchased myself**. They asked for proof of receipt which I would have happily provided. I asked them to confirm if this was my unit or a mistake and the replied rudely that they were directly looking at phot…
I lived here for 2 years and management was consistently terrible. Never had a proper super and all maintenance requests were ignored. Had no heat all winter and got no response until after I reached out to the government. Hard to get in touch with building manager and terrible service. Do not Reccomend living in any of their properties.
I’ve lived in my building for several years now, and since it is an older building, there can be many unexpected issues. I’ve found that since Brighton Management took over, any time I’ve needed help or had an emergency, they have been quick to assist. The super, Marcos, has been available in finding time to tend to any issues. The leasing coordinator, Nathaly, made sure to help get my lease finalized and back to me quickly. Leuron, one of the property managers, has responded promptly and helped with prior concerns. Every time I’ve visited the management office, everyone has been attentive and…
Terrible management team. Refused to give my deposit back after they bait and switched me on an apartment. Listing photos were of a different apartment. Apartment was in fact under construction. They are very quick to take your money but do not care after.
if this is your management company - run. Updating as they responded to me after this review was up over a year : I was your tenant for over a year I allowed you into the apartment 5 times and even called the city to investigate the mold there was a massive hold in the common area from rain for over a week you all did nothing; ignored my calls and said since you were new to owning the building you had a 'process' and would check it out your super said you all were avoiding paying any fees you had to on a new building so you would not fix the rain holes your response is a lie if this is your …
Worst management ever - Just like the other reviews, Serina tried to scam us out of our deposit. Some advice: don’t pay your last month’s rent and have your deposit be your last month’s rent.
PLEASE AVOID! These people scammed me out of my deposit and blackmailed me saying that if I pursue legal actions I will be added to the New York black list of real estate. Same group of people also run 2-3 other management companies with similar problems! All their buildings are crumbling without any maintenance, they run deals to get you in and they won't fix anything in the apartment if you need help.
Beware very shady group of people will not return any calls or correspondence when you are looking to get your security back.
I’ve lived in New York my entire life and this management company has been one of the worst housing management companies I’ve ever had to deal with. Unresponsive to basic tenant necessities and when they’re approached with complaints on addressing the issue, they seem to lash out as if it’s a personal vendetta against them. Tenants in the building in which I’m residing have not had heat or hot water consistently throughout the winter. The city has fined them several times and there seems to be no real prioritizing on Brightons end to try and come up with a permanent solution to the issues. …
Unfortunately they punish their tenants for trying to get basic repairs done.
When we noticed that our bathroom floor seemed to be sagging we contacted management and they said they could have it fixed on our own time schedule. They sent their crew, as per our request, tore out the old floor, completely rebuilt the aging infrastructure, and gave us a new, level, tile floor that matched the rest of the room. The workers were very thorough, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. We are very pleased with the results!
