When I first moved into Abingdon Court they had had the same mgmt company for a long time - and I got no information or help as a new owner. Inconsistent management and poor communication. We faced significant pushback for basic maintenance issues, and the company completely stopped responding to building emergencies (like leaks) once they knew their contract with the landlord was ending. The owner is incredibly arrogant and views any tenant feedback as an attack rather than an opportunity to do his job. He operates with zero good faith. Less than ideal experience. Any response to a request was always delayed and the owner and his employees always went out of their way to put blame back on the tenant

I would strongly caution anyone considering working with this management company. My experience has been frustrating and unprofessional from start to finish. Repairs were delayed repeatedly, and it often felt like they were done on purpose to avoid responsibility. It took several weeks to fix a simple plumbing issue. I ended up hiring my own plumber to fix the leaks. No follow through after repeated promises to fix issues timely. Owner's communication style is unprofessional and places blame on tenants and doesn't take responsibility for his company's actions. Stay away

Dealing with this management company has been exhausting. The owners are temperamental, dishonest and more concerned with their egos than the well-being of tenants. Communication is inconsistent, promises are rarely kept and basic respect doesn't exist. If you value honesty and professionalism, look elsewhere

Alex Yelon has always been very helpful and responsive to my requests and issues. Apartment was a great deal and the landlord was fair. Would rent from them again.

I have lived in NYC for over 15 years and had many different management companies between various apartment buildings, let alone three over the last few years at my current place. BEM is by far the best building management company I have had to date. Major shout out to Michael V. and his team. It's well deserved. Terrible management experience. Lies, bullying and unhinged behavior. Employees even complained to me about their own experiences with the Owner's erratic behavior. STAY AWAY!! They do not value tenants or their safety or promises made during tenancy. I still keep in touch with existing tenants and they complain about this company's behavior. Have a trove of emails, texts and voicemails to support this and happy to share, so you know what you are getting yourself into doing business with these people. THE WORST OF THE WORST
