There are laws in place about noise, property damage, and risk to someone's health and life. All which get ignored in favor of money. Which they are losing money because neighbors wanna drop bowling balls, move furniture, break pipes, get into screaming matches in 3-4 in the morning, on going through out the day for 15+ hours day and night, for more than three years. Upstairs avoid the cops, landowners and management. When those groups get called on them for causing noise complaints. Avoid this and Hekemian & Co. Was nice when I first moved here, but now they dont seem to care who moves in, people smoking out your window, not picking up dog mess..for the amount I pay they should have their Tennants respect the property and us Tennants...the rates are high ...its too bad I would not consider leaving if they not raise the cost of rent so much at least make it a better atmosphere to live...

I rent at Boulders of Rockaway. The worst place to live. Management ignores your emails. They never get back to you. I am having problems with the loud noise and banging with a tenant above me. They have a dog and they bang day and night. The dog barks constantly. They are now doing it on purpose. The management does nothing about it. They think putting bubble stuff under the areal rugs works but it doesn’t. The management gives tenants with dogs more leniency and people like me who pay a lot of rent no respect. The management needs to put a tougher policy for people with dogs.

They will keep the deposit once you move out at their discretion and come up with charges that are made up to the amount of the deposit so they can keep the money and on top of that you have to pay some more. This company lacks of ethic

I lived at two different properties for Hekemian in the past and I loved both places. The only thing I had a issue with, was the cost of rent and what made it worse was the rent went up every year. How do they expect people to make it when most of your pay goes to Hekemian for rent. Plus all utilities aren't included. Rent increases every year no matter what. Had to move because I got priced out. Before leaving, I called to ask questions to someone at Hekemian and verbally told them my intent to vacate. I was NOT reminded that this needed to be submitted in written form when I spoke to the person with Hekemian. I’m being charged 2k rent for an extra month even though I don’t live in the apartment anymore. Very disappointed in the ruthlessness and the lack of empathy with Hekemian.
