Extremely poor company. In my five years of living here, they have made 3 false reports about me for noise. Entered my unit without a proper notice, and evicted me for not paying rent because they refused payment. They do not care about your property/possessions. Id give them less than 1 star if I could. The 2.8 star average will tell you all you need to know

This was a wonderful place to live. I loved my studio apartment. It was a clean & well maintained property and the staff are terrific. I had to move away for a year but fully intend to return. I highly recommend the company.

Avoid this company at all costs. I have never in my life ten years in Portland have had to deal with such an awful management company. The property I resided at was 1616 NW Everett and it was like living in a slum house but I was still expected to pay a premium price. No go. The units seem nice at first- but they are not. Poor construction. I have never had such thin walls or floors. You can hear the bathroom, talking (word for word what they are saying), snoring, farting, opening/closing cupboards. It’s like having roommates. The building is full of weed smoke. The air is thick. 24/7. I don’t mind it here and there, but this is incessant and strong. My hair, sheets everything smells. No elevator or parking so moving was a pain. The prices are way too high.

I completed a year lease at the Goose a while back. The apartment unit itself was actually very nice with brand new appliances and granite counter tops. Proximity to the MAX and Washington Park are huge selling points too. Some ninety percent of the five star reviews you see here, were created after Eko Living offered a chance at a $500 prepaid debit card for leaving one. This company has the worst accounting ever. You’ll get you bill and pay it with the mandatory $10 fee to pay on their app and then a week later they’ll charge you for utilities or something else and want another $10 fee to pay that bill. Bill due dates are set up in a way that if you don’t want to be late on your payment then you will have to pay two separate $10 fees. The management will harass you with issues of how other tenants deal with garbage or treat their property or parking issues via group text and email. continuous passive aggressive emails about aesthetics, keeping your bicycle off your balcony, etc. the bike storage room has a broken lock and is broken into quite a bit, btw. the garbage is a huge issue, we keep getting overcharged when folks move out and leave large items. they will nickel and dime you for everything. been begging them to replace a moldy skylight for months, they swapped it with a clean one from the hallway and still haven't replaced the moldy one. the lease threatens you if you don't inform them of mold or moisture, but then they don't fix it if you tell them? the fees f…

**Invasive random unit inspections that you cannot request to be present for. I've heard of this in low income apartments but this is not that type of building. If something needed to be fixed, I'd call. Update 2025 Had first run in with maintenance for my unit, useless. The smoke detectors are placed on the highest ceiling so unreachable unless you have a ladder (step stool won't work). It starts going off at 2100 and maintenance refuses to fix it until morning. My husband and I were the first to move into the Glisan apartments. We have LOVED living here and recommend so much to live here! And we can't say ENOUGH about our property manager Logan! He is hands down the best and most kind, friendly and helpful person. We will miss him and our little cave!

At first, I was very lucky they worked with me and took me in. Now I am in a legal battle with them. I just gave birth 8 days ago. Was 9 months pregnant got assistance. (As i had Hyperemesis and was sick and unable to work most my pregnancy, which i was transparent and that i was seeking assistance.)They did not take the acceptance paperwork. And didn't answer to the projects email and now are having the sheriff come and take the unit. I had the assistance paid for and a month ahead and past due. If you choose to live here I highly recommend investing in a CHL. I was involved in an unauthorized unit entry where someone was misusing my key and leaving behind items in my apartment. The response I received was to ignore me for an immediate lock change and respond almost 3 days later wanting me to wait 2 more days, argue with me about being responsible for fees to break my lease, and request I hand them a copy of my key. Poorly managed. Not sure if it’s incompetence or just another slum lord. They only enforce the parts of the lease that are profitable for themselves. Example: if you swear at staff they will fine you, but if your upstairs neighbors blast music all night long it’s not a problem. Garbage collection doesn’t happen often enough. Large debris is left for weeks impeding access to the dumpster. Theft happens so frequently that there’s emails acknowledging it constantly, but nothing being done effectively. I was a tenant at the Grove building for over two years. And my experience renting with EkoLiving was very pleasant. Obviously, all residential complexes have their pros and cons. Here are my impressions. The good: The application process was efficient and easy. It took me less than a month from the time I requested an apartment to the time I was given the keys. On November of 2023 I moved into the Glisan apartments. I was in a program through cascadin behavioral health. So cascadin had a grant in my name to pay my rent for a year. After a month in half my pipes broke in my apartment. I was nit home due to family death so I had some one else there watching. My apartment flooded and damaged my belongings . I was notified by landlord the next it happened. She kicked out my guests and I returned there I was told by management there was a key in my house to go stay on 3 rd floor. Awful property management company. Maintenance will drag their feet and then lie about what work was done and in turn will charge you out the butt for what very little work they did do. Stay away from WDC properties and Ekoliving unless you like being nickel and dimed monthly.

Worst company I have ever rented from. They will take ever opportunity to take money from you. A door was shattered at my complex and they just left all of the glass on the floor for days. Maintenance can take weeks to respond sometimes. The codes were never changed on the door an old tenants have come in and loitered by the trash, ruined it, and then were left to pay for it while getting passive aggressive emails form management about how we aren’t disposing things properly. 0/10 Awful

These apartments are horrible, no elevator, feels like a cardboard building, you can hear and smell everything your neighbor does. These building are all “eko” meaning they are made with the cheapest material, literally a cardboard building. Small units/ overpriced/ horrible managers. No cleanliness. They will also eat half your deposit when you move! I got my unit professionally cleaned before leaving and they still charged me a cleaning fee! Do not. I repeat! DO NOT WASTE your money HERE! Trash apartments are glued together. Trash services. Trash communication with tenants. Trash prices. They are thieves. Corrupt and money grubbing. Trash Trash Trash. Thank God we broke the lease, they are NOT WORTH IT. DO NOT RENT.

These guys will eviscerate your bank account. The way they structure their billing system is absolutely criminal. You have 2 electricity bills, one paid directly to PUD for personal apartment, and one for all the electricity the building uses. (Lights, sprinkler system, fans, etc) You pay for everything. There is nothing whatsoever this company is charged, every single bill is split between all the tenants. Im in the Powell apartments. Brenna with management is condescending and will not get back to you. The apartment buildings are gross, trash area is constantly overflowing and filled with furniture that shouldnt be there. People smoking cigarettes on the shared balconies so the whole hallway smells of cigarettes. Fights happening in the building at night. Management does nothing and is hardly ever present. HORRIBLE experience to say the least. It definitely feels like as a business they are doing something shady. We are in the Glisan building. Currently stuck in a lease and will share more when we move out. The primary issue with Eko Living, as many others have noted, is their disinterest in addressing tenant concerns despite charging more than their rentals are worth. Property managers are nearly impossible to reach. I'm not exaggerating when I write that our property manager has not responded to a single email we've sent and typically doesn't answer the phone. No cameras so thieves break in and steal bikes and vehicles. Also, lots of trash and druggy tenants that live here. A lot of foot traffic and trespassing. The trespassing and prosecution signs are a joke.

I was in a car accident on the property because they did not deice at all during the winter storm. David Jackson has refused to provide me with the property's insurance information, preventing me from initiating my claim with my insurance company. Does Ekoliving even have insurance? I have sent him 5 emails asking for these simple details, and he refuses to provide them each time in his email responses. They have refused to send the insurance information because they know they are at fault for the accident.

So I've lived in these properties for 6 months after moving in had various homeless people breaking into the community, and the property management to date has still done nothing about being able to relocate or safety concerns. I would not recommend living in this property. I keep reporting the issues I have noise. I have strangers in the building and they just act like it's o k. The property management has changed three times since i've lived here And every request I have to repeat myself. This is a very uncomfortable property management.

Update: Worst renting experience I've had in my life. I don't even know where to begin. Maintenance technicians broke a window and left glass all over the floor. When I messaged management, they responded with just an extremely rude "did you try vacuuming?". DO NOT rent from ekoliving. I had multiple complaints about other residents smoking cigarettes on the property, leaving their garbage littered everywhere, and playing excessively loud music all night that were never addressed by management. When I had multiple packages stolen over the course of several weeks from the secured mailing area I was told to "get a PO box" if I didn't want my things stolen. This company does not care about the cleanliness or security of their properties and they certainly don't care about their residents.
