This company started off promising — great reviews, friendly onboarding, and we felt confident choosing them to manage our property. Unfortunately, that trust quickly eroded. We used Home Basics Real Estate to manage our rental property in Eagle Mountain for nearly 20 years, and they did a fantastic job throughout. When it came time to sell the property, they handled the process with professionalism, fairness, and efficiency. Monterey apartments are infested with cockroaches. Also the landscaper shows up way too early with his extremely loud equipment

I live at the Monterey apartments and have become frustrated by the landscaper who consistently shows up at 7 AM to loudly weedwack the grass that's right next to my windows. It wakes me up multiple times a week. Also, both buildings are completely ingested with cockroaches.

Stay away from them. They don't really care about you, just their money, don't do business with them. We had an issue with a money order that they were never able to cash out and they and they still kept it in our balance due for 11 months only to find out that it was an error made from THEIR bank, they have a guy named Zach that pretends to be kind but he doesn't care as well as the owner they just want to screw you up. As a tenant, if I could leave a -5 star review I would. Home Basic Real Estate are crooks. They are slow to respond to repairs. They charged me for a "no answer" for a repair and concocted a story about how the repair guy heard me cursing at him through the door and he saw me hitting my desk. I was downstairs recovering from knee surgery that had gone septic. I couldn't come up the stairs if I wanted to, and you can't even see my desk from the front porch. I have been a tenant of Home Basics for 3 years. I have also been a vendor and done their pest control so I have experience on both sides. They have always went above and beyond for me. I misplaced a key and the owner met me in the evening and got me another one. They are right on the ball with maintenance requests as well. Best property management I have ever worked with and I’ve worked with a lot. Could not recommend more!

We stayed at the Shadowbrook in Provo for one year during 2020. Didn't really like attitude of one of the Schauers brothers when I went in to their office with a problem/question on the rental. Very condescending and argumentative even though I approached them about it with a very positive attitude, we had just moved in (there was no way the problem was even our fault). Working with Home Basics Real Estate was the best thing we did! After searching for months for a place by ourselves without luck within days one of their workers Marian Moreno was able to help us find a beautiful place for my friend and I to rent.
