THE worst management company i have ever worked with! i canceled my contract because i never knew anything that was going on with my property, no one would email back or respond in a timely manner i was giving them money to do nothing for me! i ended up managing the property myself! they took over a week to notify me the AC stopped working in the heat of summer and as soon as i found out, i had it fixed the next day! once i canceled the contract i had questions they just referred me to another email which i am certain is just a black hole email address, which no one checks, or responds to,…

I've been with other property management companies. My properties were run down after two years or less. Hollie with Equity is the manager I needed. She actually does the inspections and keeps you in the loop on what is going on at your property. Hollie is always responsive and does a good job of following up on anything she needs to complete.

Hollie takes care of several properties for us and we never have worry about anything. She is diligent, detail oriented and wonderful about communicating anything going on with the units. She is quick to respond to any questions and I'd give her more than 5 stars if I could.

Elizabeth has managed a property for me for about 2 years now and has done a great job. She takes care of things in a timely and professional manner and communicates well. She has great support with Equity and Axiom and I would recommend her for any real estate need.

I’ve had multiple (5) properties managed by Equity for about 3 years. They handle everything. Every once in a while, I will get an email from them about a repair that is needed but I simply let them handle the repair quotes and so far I’ve never had to do anything on my own. Quotes come in quickly and at a fare price. I have never needed to do an eviction so I have no experience with them on that but I also believe this is a testament to them finding good occupants. I basically don’t worry about those properties ever.

We have been using Equity for our rental property for almost 3 years and have been very happy with them. Their rate was competitive compared to other management companies and the communication has always been great. Only complaint is that when using their contracted fix-it companies, the cost can be higher. However, I think that is problem I'd find with many companies and is an accepted price to pay for not being there to manage it yourself.

Equity Property Management has been managing our property for well over a decade now and I’m extremely happy with the members there. Erin Basso deserves a special shout out. She’s on top of her game, very responsible, professional and prompt. Tyler Kettle is another Equity member who’s also been actively helping us. She’s readily available, responds promptly and cheerfully. Then there’s Kristen Matulonis who’s always provided excellent service and keeps Equity running efficiently and smoothly. My experience with Equity has been awful. My property manager has the worst customer service. She is not respectful or empathetic. I’m addition, she frequently gaslights me. We were without wifi and service for months. We tried to figure out wifi and they would not work with us. We had solutions and Equity would not listen. The wifi situation was eventually figured out, however, Equity has still been hard to work with especially with service requests. I have had friends with good experiences with Equity, but that has not been the case for me.

Working with equity has so far been a breath of fresh air. Coming from a previously stressful and negligent management company. Our Equity property managers have been nothing but kind and easy to work with. Also a bonus getting responses regarding questions or concerns in a very timely manner! I recently moved out of one of their units and was not refunded my full security deposit due to claims that I didn't return the mailbox and storage unit keys. 2 words, thieves and liars. I was unfortunately living in a property that was managed by Equity Property management. When we moved in, there were NO doors on the washer dryer section. The wooden floors were cracked and there were holes (pin holes) all over the apartment. There were no patio screen doors, there was mold all over the patio (which they hid under a mat!) We literally had to beg initially to put in doors in the washer/dryer cabinet, for which they often responded, "the old residents put a curtain, you do that too!" LMAO. I switched to Equity Real Estate Property Management a couple of years go after a nightmare experience with a previous management company. Honestly, it’s been the best decision, I get quick responses to my emails and everything is taken care of so quickly that I don’t have to stress like I did before. Also, they are all super friendly!

Overall, super not happy with this company. Incredibly unprofessional service, including defying the landlord's instructions, and changing important information in the lease renewal contract without informing the tenants and even stating in a written email that nothing changed beyond an extension of the original lease (which was false on at least 2 counts). DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

We have rented through Equity for 5 months. We had an issue with one of the locks & they were very responsive. John notified me of his upcoming arrival, arrived promptly and fixed the lock along with a loose hinge he noticed. Equity sent an email last week announcing they were adding an additional employee to their renters’ property management team which means even faster response times in my eyes. I did just submit a maintenance issue request today and I imagine everything will go as well as it did last time. Overall, a good experience so far!

Honestly the fastest and most prompt property management company. We got really lucky when we found our townhome and we’ve haven’t moved since. Not only has our house been a great fit for us we really have loved the property management. Repairs are rare but stuff breaks and equity is always very quick to respond and send maintenance. Also special shout out to equity’s maintenance repair technician. He has really took care of us when our heater broke and dishwasher broke. We couldn't be happier

I have been living in this property for 8 years and this is the third management company and I can say that it is the one that has performed its management role best. They really care about the residents and are always aware of coming and checking the air filters. and the batteries of the smoke detectors, whenever I need any type of repair they always send the most professional ones, I feel very happy to live in this unit not only because of the food that my family has but also because of the administration that they make our easier life.

I can not say enough good things about Equity Real Estate Property Management! Darla and the team there in Hilo has been wonderful to work with and has always gone above and beyond truly the best renting experience I have ever had.

Don’t bother with them! They’ll rip you off from day one! Upon first move in was not informed the place had no furnace, just 2 baseboard heaters. Then, they charged me for previous tenants repairs and cleanings and said it was a new guys error. They overcharge for trash removal, even bill you for streetlight use when there are none. It’s just fee after fee after fee, and don’t expect security deposit back at all. Fees! Fees! Fees! Avoid this company like Covid!

Could not have asked for a more helpful staff especially Lisa!!! Absolutely amazing on making the paperwork process extremely easy for someone like me who really doesn’t understand the fine print. Chris I met also very helpful. Could not be more thankful for the ease of the whole process.
